About Me

Thor is My Homeboy

Who am I? I’m a twenty-something year old post-graduate geology student from New Zealand.
I’m graduated with a BSc in Geology in May 2006. I’m currently conducting research for my MSc which concerns the dating and geochemistry of carbonaceous chondrites. Further details of my MSc can be found in my post about CAIs and my research.

Previously, I was a Unix/Linux systems administrator and web developer and I still participate in both fields to a minor extent. I’ve had my computer career and I don’t intend on returning to IT full time, unless it’s something special or I’m especially desperate for cash.

My interests are defined by what I write here. I have a particular liking for science & skepticism, video games & the surrounding culture thereof, interesting art & graphical design, the internet in general, cartoons and anything else that tickles my fancy.

Contact

If you’d like to flick me an e-mail, serenade me with a sonnet or simply talk at me, here are the details you’ll need:

e-mail: yorrike-no@spam-please-yorrike.com (remove the “-no” and “spam-please-”)

Don’t be offended if I don’t reply to your e-mails. I do read every e-mail I get (unless, as you’d expect, it’s spam), but I tend to be remarkably lazy. It’s for this reason that if you really desire a reply from me and fail to receive one within a few days of sending an e-mail, send another. I seem to respond well to primates clutching to my back.
