Yorrike.com lives!
Welcome to the new yorrike.com.
I’ve made the move from my old host (Icestorm) to the FreeBSD pushing, ssh smoking crackheads at Textdrive. The very same people who brought you Textpattern (Which I’m don’t use, but all the same). The reason for the move is; Icestorm, though cheaper than Textdrive, aren’t my cup of tea. They don’t have ready, default access to ssh, scp and sftp, the security and conveniance features of which I consider essential for web publishing. But otherwise they’re alright.
I’ll use this site to talk about any old shit that happens to be catching my attention. I don’t expect many readers, so I’m going to be candid in my posts and subjects. I’ll mainly be focusing on web based technology, my studies in geology/geophysics and my interest and persuits in animation, comics and other visual art and design.
Since Textdrive’s minimum plan gives you space for three TLDs, I’m redeveloping hardcoregamers.com and giving it a push towards what it should have been years ago; an eccentric gaming blog. The holding page is a preview of the design I’m working with, but I’m still pondering the UI. I want to do something special that appears simple, so it may be a while before it’s going again. Before E3 is my goal. If a game or game news catches my eye before HCG is going, I’ll post it here. I ultimately expect to do cross posting on the gaming subject over both sites.
Enjoy.
