Star Wars Episode 3

Revenge of the shitty script.

I’ve just returned from seeing episode 3, my excuse for leaving it so long is I’m busy with university and poor. If you haven’t seen it and don’t want to hear anything about it, skip this post and entertain yourself with something else, like randomly clicking around. Otherwise….

The movie was alright. Much better than episode 1, and a little better than episode 2. Anakin’s decent to the dark side was somewhat … weak. So he has a bad dream and is then promised his bad dreams will go away by the soon-to-be emperor. And that’s it. His dreams are about Padme dying, and he ends up almost killing her anyway, so it’s somewhat badly written in my opinion. The motivation is badly conceived and poorly executed.

The last half hour was nothing but tying knots in the story, many of which could have been left alone (such as the construction of the Death Star), but on the whole it worked.

Worst part: Darth Vader saying “NOOOOOO!” when he hears of Padme’s death. Stupid.
Best Part: The light saber battles were pretty cool, as was the opening battle sequence.
